City of Dublin ETB wish to appoint a Liaison Officer to join our dynamic organisation supporting the development and delivery of youth work throughout the City of Dublin.

Job Focus:

The primary focus of the post is to support, develop, and monitor funded organisations and volunteer-led youth clubs/groups across the city. The Liaison Officer will strengthen funded organisations through support, guidance, and oversight, contributing to service planning, training, governance, and the ongoing development of youth work in line with national and local priorities.

Overview of Key Areas of Work:

·        Supporting Youth Work Provision & Development

·        Coordinating Youth Work

·        Administration of Youth Work

·        Assessing Youth Work

Essential Requirements:

·    A recognised third-level qualification (Level 8) in one of the following areas: Youth and Community Work, Social Work, Education, or other relevant discipline.

Desirable Requirements:

·        Experience and knowledge of youth work practices and programmes, particularly for marginalised or disadvantaged young people.

·        Familiarity with Quality Standards Frameworks relevant to youth work.

·        Knowledge of Department of Education & Youth Work Policy/National Strategies.

·        Minimum of two years’ experience working directly in the community/voluntary/youth work sector.

·        Excellent planning, organisation, communication, and teamwork skills.

·        Good analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

·        Proven track record of partnership working and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

·        Good report writing and ICT skills.

·        Experience of financial and budget management and oversight.

·        Understanding of the role of voluntary leadership in the youth sector.

Salary Scale: €42,667 per annum (pro rata) starting point. Incremental scale applies thereafter.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
