THE CUBE Launch

We were incredibly proud to launch THE CUBE, our youth work immersive micro-experience, for the very first time at the City of Dublin ETB Expo in Croke Park. What began as an idea developed into a fully interactive experience that engaged young people, youth workers, educators, and visitors throughout the day.

THE CUBE is an immersive experience designed to challenge participants through games, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication inside a unique interactive space. Across the event, young people participated in challenges, worked together in teams, and brought fantastic energy and enthusiasm to the experience. The response throughout the day was overwhelmingly positive, and it was clear that THE CUBE created something exciting, different, and memorable for everyone involved.

A key highlight of the day was the creativity and expression shown by young people, not only through participation in THE CUBE but also through the incredible artwork on display. The contributions reflected the voices, talents, and perspectives of young people, adding a powerful and engaging dimension to the overall experience.

We are delighted to recognise the winners of THE CUBE challenges on the day. Congratulations to Marino, Kylemore, Ringsend, Clongher, and Finglas for their outstanding teamwork, problem-solving, and engagement throughout the experience. Their achievements brought a fantastic sense of energy and friendly competition to the event.

In total, 165 young people participated in THE CUBE experience. When asked what mattered most to them:

  • 20 chose Rewarding
  • 81 chose Voice
  • 64 chose Belonging

These results highlight the diversity of experiences and priorities among young participants, reinforcing how THE CUBE successfully created a space where everyone could engage, express themselves, and feel part of something meaningful.

This project would not have been possible without the dedication and teamwork of a large group of people. A huge congratulations goes to Thomas, whose vision, creativity, technical ability, and determination brought THE CUBE from an idea to a fully functioning immersive experience. From design and animation to facilitation and problem-solving, Thomas guided the project through every stage of development.

A sincere thank you also goes to Camille and Luke, who worked behind the scenes organising equipment, materials, and logistics to make sure everything was in place. Camille also played a huge role in supporting and looking after the young people throughout the event, which is at the heart of youth work practice.

Simon played a major role on the technical and logistics side, ensuring everything ran smoothly, solving problems as they arose, and helping with transport, setup, and all the practical challenges that come with running an event like this.

We would also like to thank Nora and Mark for their support with organisation, finance, logistics, and on-site coordination, stepping in wherever needed to ensure the success of the event.

A big thank you to Rukaiyat and Camille for capturing the day and making sure the story of THE CUBE was shared across social media so that more people could see the amazing work being done by young people and youth services.

We would also like to recognise and thank the Youth Advisory Panel and the young leaders who helped test, shape, and facilitate THE CUBE experience. Their ideas, leadership, and willingness to get involved played a huge role in the success of the project.

Most importantly, thank you to all the young people who participated in THE CUBE experience on the day. Your energy, teamwork, positivity, and willingness to take part made the experience what it was. Congratulations again to the winners: Marino, Kylemore, Ringsend, Clongher, and Finglas for their fantastic teamwork and problem-solving.

The interest in THE CUBE following the Expo has already been extremely positive, with future opportunities being explored with a number of organisations and events. This project highlights what youth work can achieve when creativity, teamwork, and young people’s voices are at the centre of the process.

The launch of THE CUBE was a huge success, but this is only the beginning. We look forward to continuing to develop and bring THE CUBE to more young people and communities in the future.
