City of Dublin Youth Services hosted the Winter Administration & Finance Network Meeting on 24 February 2026, bringing together 27 representatives from funded youth organisations, alongside members of the City of Dublin Youth Services administration and finance team, to share updates, strengthen practice, and support high-quality governance in youth work.
The session opened with sector updates from Nora Moriarty and Mark O’Gorman, including developments relating to Integration and Capital Grants and ongoing evaluation of UBU administrative processes. Participants also explored new opportunities for streamlined and simplified administrative systems within the sector.
Simon Thomas delivered a practical presentation on common challenges in completing quarterly UBU financial reporting templates. The session provided guidance on accurate reporting of UBU expenditure, highlighted frequent errors, and addressed key data protection considerations, including the importance of using organisational email addresses to ensure compliance and continuity.
Lynsey Holmes provided advice and guidance on amending UBU budgets within the financial year. Her presentation supported organisations to manage budget adjustments effectively and in line with programme requirements, ensuring clarity and accountability in financial planning.
Thomas O’Connor led a session focused on strengthening governance through the development of shared policy and procedure templates. Participants contributed feedback on priority policies requiring review, and expressions of interest were invited for a sector working group that will collaboratively identify key areas for development and support consistent governance standards across youth organisations of all sizes.
The meeting concluded with networking over a hearty lunch and a small souvenir appreciation for attendees. This informal setting encouraged open conversation, relationship-building, and the sharing of experiences, helping to strengthen connections across the City of Dublin youth work community.
